As Executive Director of the South Carolina Institute of Medicine and Public Health, Ms. Pack works with the Board of Directors to provide vision and strategic direction to the Institute and oversees daily operations. Ms. Pack joined the IMPH team in 2009 and has a diverse background that includes working in strategic planning in the hospital setting, consulting for various nonprofit and health care organizations and developing programs and informing policies to improve the quality of health care provided in South Carolina.
Mr. Freeman is the retired founding Chief Executive Officer of Palmetto Health, the largest integrated healthcare delivery system in South Carolina. Palmetto Health includes a regional teaching hospital and tertiary center, two acute care hospitals, a heart hospital, a children’s hospital and a psychiatric hospital. He was the founding executive director and served in that roll from 2011 until 2020.
Mr. Centeno brings over eight years of experience in the operations, business and accounting fields to IMPH. In his role as Operations Manager, Mr. Centeno leads office operations, financial and board governance for IMPH in partnership with the Executive Director. He also works in developing the annual budget, monitoring compliance with grant requirements and preparing project budgets for grant proposals. Mr. Centeno also plans, coordinates and performs administrative and support activities.
As IMPH Project Director Ms. Hunt works closely with the Executive Director to achieve the Institute’s mission and vision. Ms. Hunt plans and convenes taskforces, authors taskforce reports, writes grants and supports communications and the Health Policy Fellows Program as needed. Ms. Hunt joined the IMPH team in 2018 and brings in-depth experience in population health, policy, government and communications to the Institute.
Brittney Sanderson serves as the Research and Policy Analyst for the South Carolina Institute of Medicine and Public Health. Ms. Sanderson provides support in authoring policy briefs and reports, performing research and data translation. Ms. Sanderson brings with her over three years of experience as a researcher focusing on a variety of health topics ranging from clinical simulation to population health.
Mr. Sox brings more than three years of comprehensive knowledge of policy development, government relations and strategic communications to IMPH. In his role as Legislative Initiatives Coordinator, Mr. Sox represents IMPH with members of the General Assembly, their staff and other elected officials to increase the institute’s visibility and credibility as the go-to resource for nonpartisan information to inform health policy.
