IMPH partnered with the Children’s Trust of South Carolina to host the 2026 Policy Summit Luncheon as part of the signature Health Policy Fellows Program. The summit was held on August 19, 2026, at the Palmetto Club from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
About The Program
The summit luncheon provided an opportunity for legislators and legislative staff an opportunity to learn about advancing the well-being of children in South Carolina. Dr. Joseph Von Nessen, Research Economist at the Darla Moore School of Business, served as a speaker, and Assistant Secretary Alex J. Adams, Assistant Secretary for the Administration for Children and Families under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, spoke with attendees regarding child well-being. IMPH partnered with the South Carolina Office of Rural Health to host the 2025 Health Policy Summit as a part of the signature Health Policy Fellows Program. The summit was held on January 13 at the Pastides Alumni Center from noon to 4 p.m.
About The Program
The summit provided an opportunity for legislators and legislative staff to obtain information on IMPH’s current taskforce: Rural Access to Care for Improving Maternal and Infant Health. Subject matter experts presented current data trends and their impact on health outcomes. Potential health policy initiatives recommended in the taskforce’s action plan were discussed with legislators and legislative staff.
