Role at IMPH: I’ll be working as the Communications Assistant this semester. I’m helping to manage the organizational social media accounts and website content.

How did you become interested in public health?  The challenge of communicating public health issues and solutions has always interested in me. After working at Publicis Health Media last summer, I knew I wanted to pursue a communications career that emphasized health and wellness.

What areas of public health are you most interested in and why?  I’m particularly interested in maternal and mental health.

What are your future plans? I hope to work for a large communications agency that focuses on health and wellness initiatives.

If you didn’t study public relations, what would you have studied?  I would’ve studied art history. I love learning about history through the story of paintings, sculptures and architecture.

Who do you consider your mentor/greatest inspiration and why?  My father is my greatest inspiration. He’s always worked hard to provide for our family and taught us that we can do anything we want if we put in the work.

When you aren’t studying or working, what are your favorite activities?  I enjoy going to local shows, playing with my dog Mac, and visiting my favorite city, Chicago.
