Amelia Wilks

Project Coordinator

Amelia Wilks serves as the Project Coordinator for the South Carolina Institute of Medicine and Public Health. In this role, she supports the development and execution of policy-informing activities, programs, research, and communications that engage stakeholders and advance IMPH’s mission.  

Before joining IMPH, Ms. Wilks previously served as a Government Relations and Public Affairs consultant at a South Carolina public affairs firm where she worked to inform public and private sector clients on legislative activities and collaborated with stakeholders to make informed policy proposals. In addition to her government relations experience, Amelia has also served as the Community Relations Coordinator at Children’s Trust of South Carolina, where she led a statewide awareness campaign for Child Abuse Prevention Month. In her role at Children’s Trust, she collaborated with the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to engage community-based organizations to build out a network of social care resources for South Carolina families. Through her professional experience, she has developed skills in organizing, strategic communications, community outreach, and project management.  

Amelia is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and currently pursuing a master's in public administration degree. She sits on the board of directors for Power in Changing, a diaper bank that serves the Midlands.
