South Carolina Public Health Association Releases Call for Abstracts

The South Carolina Public Health Association has released a call for student abstracts for the annual conference that will be held May 21-22, 2014.  The South Carolina Institute of Medicine and Public Health will present the highest scoring student abstract with the Outstanding Student Abstract Award of $100.  The purpose of the Contributed Papers Session is to share results of original student research or program implementation important to the field of public health.  Presenters will gain valuable presentation experience and have an opportunity to network with public health professionals from diverse fields.

Programmatic and research abstracts will be accepted and are encouraged to address either Healthy People 2020 or the conference theme of “Heroes in the Field: Public Health at the Front Line.”  The Contributed Papers Sessions Committee will blindly review the submissions and select three poster sessions for presentation in the exhibit hall, ten will be chosen for a poster presentation and four will be selected for a 15-minute oral presentation.    The deadline to submit abstracts is Friday February 21, 2014 at 5:00pm.
