The Service Delivery committee examined a wide range of issues relating to the capacity, stability and quality of services across the LTC system—including home and community-based services, facility-based care options and other supportive services (e.g., case management services, family caregiver programs, transitional services, technology resources). Throughout the taskforce process, members discussed the need for increased collaboration across organizational lines in the development and delivery of programs and services, as well as the importance of data collection/analysis for the purposes of evaluation and planning. Ultimately, the committee developed recommendations that addressed the following areas: structural improvements in the overall system, programs enhancements to improve home and community-based services, protections for vulnerable adults, quality of care issues and prevention efforts to promote healthy aging.
