Opportunity to Comment on Current Guidelines for Federal Concessions and Vending Options

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity has shared that the HHS/GSA Health and Sustainability Guidelines for Federal Concessions and Vending Operations (“Guidelines”) will be updated through a collaborative federal effort. The updated Guidelines will be distributed following the release of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2015.

As part of the process of updating Guidelines, the General Services Administration is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) to gather responses from the vending and food service industry, private and public sector worksite leadership, public and environmental health organizations and other interested parties on the successes and barriers encountered when implementing the current Guidelines. The public comment period is now open and will close on September 15, 2015.
