On Wednesday, May 25, 2011, SCPHI participated in the opening session of the South Carolina Public Health Association’s annual meeting in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Together with Cynthia Williams, from Health Sciences South Carolina, and Amy Splittgerber, from Eat Smart Move More South Carolina, SCPHI Associate Directors Maya Pack and Megan Weis participated in the panel entitled “Implementing the Affordable Care Act in South Carolina: Opportunities, Challenges, and the Importance of Partnerships.”

IMPH Hosts Health Impact Assessment (HIA) Training Sponsored by the Piedmont Health Foundation

The South Carolina Institute of Medicine and Public Health (IMPH) and the Piedmont Health Foundation convened stakeholders from Greenville area organizations on March 26, 2012 to provide training on the purpose and use of the health impact assessment (HIA) as a tool for incorporating health decisions into community decision making.
